Sophie and Sam have been good friends of mine for 10 years now, also the entire length of their relationship. We all met at St Johns College (all studying something we aren’t using now) in February 2008. Sophie and I hit it off straight away and Sam and Sophie hit it off about a week later (sucker Sam).
Sam grew up an hour out of Mackay on his parents cattle farm and Soph grew up near Goondiwindi on her parents cattle farm. However, Mooloolaba has always been a favourite holiday destination from childhood to now for both of them, so it was the perfect location for their wedding. Being surrounded by all their friends and family for as long as possible is probably Soph and Sam’s idea of a perfect weekend. They weren’t keen on a big wedding, but you know country folk… they get excited to bring everyone together and love a good party! And that it was!
A huge shoutout goes to Soph’s grandma who is 80-something years old and made Soph’s skirt and top – I’ve thrown in a lot of images of it because it’s just absolutely incredible and deserves the attention. What a woman!
Congratulations you cuties. I’ve always been a fan of your love through everything and it made me so so happy to be able to create these memories for you and the beautiful children you will one day have.
Also, not gonna lie… making Sam actually enjoy the photoshoot will probably go down as one of my greatest professional achievements.
